Quartet who feature vocal harmonies and a rich mix of accordion, two violins, guitars, viola, harmonica, and piano. They have performed extensively and have just released a new CD. Original, contemporary and traditional English folk and roots music.
Suntrap are :
Paul Hoad (Vocals, Guitars and Harmonica)
Sarah Byers (Vocals, Accordion and Guitar)
Mary Wilson (Vocals and violin)
Nicola Davies (Vocals and violin)
Suntrap put their own innovative interpretations on old favourites, interspersing well-performed tunes with the verses, mixing exciting vocal harmonies and occasional richly textured stripped back solo a cappella. With their own original compositions written along similar lines.
Combining two fiddles, a couple of guitars, a whistle, an accordion, a harmonica and a bodhran with superb vocal harmonies they are truly one of the best folk bands around.
