Sadie & Jay
An extended spot by Sadie & Jay all the way from Australia on route to Broadstairs Folk Week.
Sadie and Jay sing captivating songs accompanied by intricate finger style guitar and double bass. Their contemporary and original folk music styles have leanings to the alternative with a tinge of blues and roots. Blending vocals of rare calibre with an evocative back-drop of traditional folk instruments this duo perform intimate, expressive and resonant music.
Sadie has now come to live in Brisbane. In late 2012, Sadie and Jay met at The Bug in New Farm. Both looking for a possible collaboration they tried out their chops at Folk Redlands to "see how it goes…."
Sadie & Jay have been performing as a duo for the past six years. Australian festivals include Maleny, Neurum Creek, Redlands Spring Festival and the Illawarra Folk Festival. They were the headline act at Hamilton's Folk Festival, 'Hamsterfest' in 2019 and toured NZ's North Island.
