Although primarily a singer/songwriter Jim enjoys playing anything from Celtic instrumentals through Folk, Americana, Blues and Country. He loves the challenge of continuing the folk tradition, including reinterpreting songs to keep them current whilst staying faithful to the original. Jim's guitar playing uses a variety of tunings, and mixes rhythm and finger picking styles.
Jim plays 6 and 12 string guitars, both acoustically and through various FX and PA, and mainly plays solo, but when the occasion calls for it, He will play with a variety of skilled musicians on bass, mandolin, violin and percussion. Whether with a band or playing solo, the music style is strongly acoustic guitar based.
Christopher Crompton is a singer-songwriter, guitarist, writer and poet from the West Midlands.
His work is created from a diverse palette of influences that cross genres and cultures. His distinctive voice and guitar playing draw these threads together into a unique sound and presentation. The subjects he addresses are equally heterogeneous, from the personal to the political, from the Stoic to the spiritual, from the everyday to the extraordinary. In every corner of experience, Christopher seeks the sensibilities that render the individual universal.
His words and music set out to make you feel something. They challenge but carry compassion. They empathise, lament, celebrate and encourage.
